Mrs. Damos' Online Classroom

About Me

I grew up in Sonora, Ca., and graduated from Sonora Union High School. After graduation, I move to Arizona where I attended college at Northern Arizona University. After graduating in 2003, I moved back to California and made Roseville my home. I have been married for thirteen years, and I have two children. On the weekends we enjoy kayaking, watching movies, playing games, swimming, and going on bike rides. During the week, you can usually find me working out at the gym and taking my kids to sporting events.

Teaching Experience
I have been working at Twelve Bridges Middle School for the past three years teaching math and scinece; however, this is the first year that I will be teaching social studies and digital art.
I believe it is essential that our students understand the basics of math before they can attain higher concepts. Since I am one of the math teachers at Twelve Bridges, I will be committed to each of my students and their success. In addition to my devotion, I also really enjoy math, and I will make every effort to pass that along to my students. I would like them to view math as a positive and not a negative. :)
Education
I am what Uncle Sam considers a Lifelong Learner. I have more than twenty years of school. In those twenty years, I have managed to acquire a High School Diploma, A. A. in Liberal Arts, B. S. in Education, C.L.A.D. Certificate, and a M. A. in Educational Technology. I have a Professional Clear Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential with a Supplementary Authorization in Computer Concepts and Applications. In addition to my teaching credential, I also have a C.L.A.D Certificate, which allows me to teach English Language Learners. Currently, I am going to National University to get my Administrators Credential. I will be done at the end of March, 2008.
Experience
In the past, I have taught a variety of subjects including P. E., Math, Life Science, Earth Science, Video Production, Digital Art, and Web Development. I am very knowledgeable when it comes to computers, and I like to incorporate technology in my lessons as much as possible. I am currently teaching 6th grade math, science, and digital art which I find to be very enjoyable.
With that being said, I would like to welcome you to my classroom and Twelve Bridges Middle School. I look forward to meeting you and your child, but most of all, I look forward to being apart of your lives.
